BenQ LT - Where we are at...
March 09, 2010, 10:49:16 PM by Klutsh
Well for definate iPrep in it's current state does not work with BenQ LT FW (EVen the Beta). I need to write complete new patch routine to work with the BenQ FW, Whoever posted a ixDef on xbins obviously did not check if it would even work.
Having tried 3-4 different source FW's, using firmTool or a quick modded liteTool, every single one fails to be patched correctly. I will try my best to get this done ASAP, but be warned I am still learning to code DOS tools.
For the time being the ONLY tool that will correctly create a BenQ-LT FW is JungleFlasher. iPrep can still be used for reading & flashing, just not patching.
------
On another note, thanks for the Donations, they have speeded up the fixing of the Dev PC, I grabbed a cheap nVidia card while the other is away, Just got to wait 3-5 days now while they test it.

I know, I know
March 07, 2010, 04:32:22 PM by Klutsh
I know BenQ LT is out, but my main PC is out of action, the ATI Graphics card that it has, has now decided to start over-heating and rebooting the PC, very annoying. The GFX card in question is due to be collected for a repair tomorrow, as soon as it is back with me I shall get on with iPrep again.
Sorry

Xbox 360, PS3 Get Unlimited Storage
For anyone wanting to transfer large files over a short distance without a local area network, having to do the USB stick shuffle is a huge pain. Load, unload, delete, repeat. Sure you could buy a higher capacity stick, but they're expensive and still have limitations. Infinitec is looking to bust through the memory barrier with its new USB streaming technology.
Rather than storing a handful of gigabytes on each stick, the Infinite USB Memory device (IUM) stores zero gigabytes. Instead, it creates an ad hoc wireless network between your laptop and whatever other USB enabled device you want to connect to. You can stream movies to your PS3 or Xbox 360, send images to your once non-wireless printer, or even transfer files between computers by making your whole hard-drive available on the network. Best of all, there are no drivers to install - aside from a one-time "pairing" process that installs the awesomely titled "Infinite Portal" onto your computer - and it works with all operating systems.

Of course, the fact that it's wireless means you can only transfer files within the IUM's range, so there will still be a use for regular old flash memory sticks. There's still no word on pricing or technical specs, but we'll keep an eye out. /quote]

PlayStation 4, It Could Have “Flexible Touchscreen Tech”
Ah, PS4. Talk has been raging on for years now, actually many thought Sony would abandon PS3 because of what they perceived to be its many failings and rush unto the next. Well that’s not the case, but that doesn’t mean the hardware giant isn’t already thinking of its next-gen system. Surely you’ve heard of the many rumors claiming that Sony has already settled on the specs of PS4? Well we don’t have nothing concrete yet, but speaking to PlayStation: The Official Magazine, Sony fan and freelance designer Tai Chiem, who’s drawn some awesome looking prototypes of what PS4 could look like, including some of the specs, divulged his reasons for doing so.
“[I wanted] to challenge myself to design something based on a current company while keeping their design language,” he told the mag, “but also taking it further.”
“I wanted it to look like something Sony would design.”
His prototype design is far reaching and extremely technical, so can these lofty visions be realized? Chiem thinks it’s not even a question of if, but rather when.
“Flexible touchscreen technology is currently being developed, so it’s definitely a possibility,” he continued. “I have seen companies such as Samsung developing transparent screens. While it’s costs prohibitive to have these features at the moment, I think it would be feasible in the next five to ten years.”
The pics are below and I’m sure you’ve seen them before, so what ya think?

PS3 3D video output turns up in 3.20 debug firmware
We'd already heard that the PS3 wouldn't need anything more than a simple firmware update to make the jump to 3D, and it looks like we now have the first evidence of that very firmware update. It's obviously not ready for public consumption just yet, but a debug build of the 3.20 firmware is apparently now making the rounds among developers, and it quite clearly includes a "3D Video Output" option in the settings -- as evidenced by this image courtesy of VG247. Still no word of an exact release date for the firmware, unfortunately, although it should be out sometime this summer.
